Trip Itinerary ( Detailed Safari )

Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe Airport, pick up and transfer to the booked Hotel.

An English-speaking professional tour driver-guide hired by Home to Africa will meet you at Entebbe International Airport and welcome you to Uganda, the Pearl of Africa. You will then be transferred to the reserved lodging.

After checking in and resting, you will recuperate from jet lag and get used to the time change. #Expensive (optional): If you arrived early and were looking for something to do, you may want to think about: a) going to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens to see some monkeys and birds, or b) going to the Mabamba Wetland to look for the ancient shoebill stork. Otherwise, just check in and relax.
Accommodation: ViaVia Uganda Entebbe

Day 2: Travel to Zziwa for an hour of rhino tracking, proceed to Murchison NP.

After breakfast, we’ll go to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a successful conservation initiative aimed at preserving Uganda’s almost extinct rhino herd. Thanks to this endeavor, tourists may now have the opportunity to see rhinos in Uganda. After arriving in Zziwa, we will go rhino tracking for an hour on foot. We’ll travel to Masindi after the rhino tracking, where you may stop for lunch.

We will start the last portion of our adventure today after lunch, spending the night at the lodging we have reserved in Murchison National Park. *Before heading to the reserved lodging, you may choose to go on a game drive. If not, we may go directly to the lodging, check in, and enjoy our stay.
Accommodation: Ikorom Safari Lodge

Day 3: Exploring Murchison NP – Morning and Afternoon game drives/safari.

A complete park game watching experience awaits you today. Buffaloes, Jackson hartebeests, elephants, Lions, Giraffes, leopards, and Hyenas live at Murchison Falls NP. They graze and hunt across the Savannah grasslands.

This makes the park’s terrain great for game viewing/driving.We can stop at Red Chilli for lunch to save the lengthy journey back to the accommodation. The second half of our game watching may begin after lunch. After a wonderful day, we’ll refresh at the lodge before supper and bedtime. #Optional (additional cost $30 pp): The 11am boat journey upstream to the falls includes a trek to the summit (extra $25 pp).
Accommodation: Ikorom Safari Lodge

Day 4: Drive to the top of the falls, transfer to the edge of Kibale Forest NP.
After breakfast, we’ll go to the top of Murchison Falls to see its splendor.

Our trip from the summit will take us overnight near Kibale Forest National Park. The lengthy yet gorgeous trip passes past towns, rich green farmland, and hills with tea plantations in Uganda.
Beautiful views will astonish you throughout. Enjoy your stay after checking in. The crater lakes tour is optional (additional fee). The many little lakes, mild slopes, and breathtaking vistas will delight you. Otherwise, relax at the facilities.
Accommodation: Chimpanzee Forest Lodge

Day 5: Bigodi wetlands excursion, transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP, game drive.

Leave after breakfast for Bigodi wetlands. The Bigodi wetland is home to black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and baboons. Bigodi is a birdwatcher’s heaven. *Optional (230$/pp):

Chimpanzee tracking (Kibale Forest) may replace the Bigodi wetlands tour.
Please remember that chimp tracking permits must be obtained before the date. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park (approximately 2 hours) from Bigodi (or Kibale Forest) immediately. Rise and have breakfast. On a morning wildlife drive in the Kasenyi plains, watch for Cape buffalos, elephant herds, lions, leopards (though hard to locate), and others. Rest and have lunch at the hotel. After lunch, you’ll take a 2-hour Kazinga Channel boat ride between Lakes George and Edward.

Giant hippos, elephants, and crocodiles will amaze you during the journey. You’ll witness several bird species beside the water. After the boat ride, you may relax at the resort or go for a late afternoon wildlife drive.

Day 7: Relaxed breakfast, drive to Ishasha sector and then connect to Bwindi NP.

After a leisurely breakfast, visit Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Ishasha section, noted for its tree-climbing lions. Spotting these lions is 60-70%, however they may be hard to notice, particularly when they are in the grassland hunting. See them in the tree for a wonderful sight. After Ishasha, you’ll stay near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After a long day, you’ll simply check in and rest before Bwindi gorilla trekking tomorrow.
Accommodation: Ride 4 a Woman Guesthouse

Day 8: Gorilla trekking Bwindi Forest, return and stay at leisure – recovering.

Breakfast and then the rangers’ post. Gorilla trekking rules will be explained. Adventure and encounter await you in the jungle. This rain forest is gorgeous! The densely wooded region is crisscrossed with animal routes for visitors.

These huge primates’ movements affect the time (4-8 hours) and terrain.

You have one hour with a gorilla group after finding them. Our experience with these friendly yet endangered giants is memorable. Return to your hotel to recuperate after a long hike. *Optional, additional charge: If the body is up to it, your guide may organize a community visit or a brief nature walk.
Accommodation: Ride 4 a Woman Guesthouse

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo NP and enjoy afternoon (evening) game drive.

Leave for Lake Mburo NP after a leisurely breakfast. Mburo, a little treasure along the Entebbe/Kampala route to western Uganda’s parks, is handy. The smallest of Uganda’s savannah National Parks, it is home to various bird species and animals including giraffes, zebras, impalas, eland, buffalo, and leopards.

We’ll check in and recover before a late afternoon-to-evening game drive with Mburo people. Finally, dine and sleep at the lodge. If interested, you may take the night game drive to see nocturnal animals, which are rarer than daylight sightings.
Accommodation: Eagle’s Nest Camp

Day 10: Morning walking safari in the park, return to Entebbe to catch flight.

Enjoy breakfast and a morning park (bush) stroll in Mburo with an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger-guide. On this early morning guided walk, you’ll see Zebras, Giraffes, Eland, Topi, antelope, and Cape buffaloes up close.
