18-Day Great Ugandan Safari

Overview

Fly toward Entebbe Airport. After looking for shoebill stork, go on the Mabamba tour to Jinja, on the Nile. From Jinja, proceed to Sipi—Kapchorwa for a coffee tour then keep on Moroto. After personally seeing the Tepeth and Karamojong people, go to Kidepo for a classic African safari. Stop at Queen Elizabeth, Murchison Falls, Kibale Area. From Queen, go to Bwindi for gorilla treking and then link to Lake Mburo. At last come back to Entebbe.

Trip Itinerary ( Detailed Safari )

Day 1: Mabamba and transfer to Jinja.

Following a breakfast early in the morning, you will be picked up by our driver guide and go to Mabamba in quest of the renowned shoebill stork.

Following this exercise, you will go to Jinja where you will unwind and spend the night. Jinja is a vibrant city full of exciting events that would thrill you and help you to remember your trip. Arriving, you will have supper and relax; activities will be carried out the following day. You will not participate.

Day 2: Activities of interest then transfer to Kapchorwa.

You will go for fascinating activities in Jinja town after breakfast. Fun and peaceful town with much to offer is Jinja. Among the things not to miss in Jinja are Quad riding, water rafting, Nile source visitation, and so much more. You will hit the road and be transferred to Kapchorwa after these activities. You will be late, so instead of participating in any activity you will have supper at the hotel and relax while you get ready for events following day.

Day 3: Sipi Falls hiking and Coffee tour.

You will go exploring the Sipi Falls after breakfast. About two half-hour to three hour hike leads you to visit the three Sipi Falls in the vicinity. The vistas are amazing and create a fantastic journey. You will start a coffee tour after lunch at the lodging. Right from seed to cup, you will be closely familiar with how coffee is handled. Later, simply unwind at the hotel with a breathtaking view of Sipi just before of you.

Day 4: From Sipi to Moroto to visit Tepeth community then head to Kara-Tunga safari camp.

You will start a (not-so-long) trip to Moroto from Soroti after breakfast. Situated at the base of the great Mount Moroto and the surrounding plains of savannah, Moroto is a settlement One of Uganda’s most indigenous tribes, the Karamojong and the Tepeth, is closer reachable by a visit here.

After camp check-in, we should arrive at either 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm. Before we may visit the Tepeth tribe, lunch is scheduled. Originally hunters-gatherers from another region, they were the initial occupants of Karamoja. From their country, the nomadic pastoral Karamojong migrated into the highlands until now. This trip will undoubtedly provide us with some understanding of their life.

Day 5: Half day trek at Mountain Moroto and evening Karamojong experience.

Following an early breakfast, you will go out on a half-day short hike to see some of Mount Moroto. This will be a less demanding climb with a combination of amazing vistas and unusual sites along the path, along with fascinating interactions with highland inhabitants of Uganda.

After lunch and some relaxation back at the camp, we will go out once again to run across the locals. The Karamojong village excursion will give one a personal taste of Uganda’s last surviving traditional customs. Experience classic living, household chores, vibrant dances and activities. This will be an amazing trip if you just let yourself to be surrounded by the throbbing core of the society.

Day 6: Travel to Kidepo Valley NP, rest and later evening Game Drive.

You will drive out to Kidepo Valley National Park after breakfast, arrive in time for some relaxation and lunch, then go game watching. You will then go game watching in the southern Kidepo Narus Valley. Narus is the Kidepo area with mixed acacia forest over savannah grassland.

Most of the animals in the park are in this section since it is also the one with constant water sources all year long. Look for great numbers of buffaloes, elephants, numerous zebras, antelope species, lions, and secretive leopards. You will return for supper and your overnight stay to the lodging.

Day 7: Kidepo NP game drive and Karamojong community encounter.

Following an early morning meal, you will start a dawn game drive where you will come across among other species lions, herds of buffalos, elephants, zebras, or the elusive leopard. Lunch and afternoon leisure may be had back at the lodge.

Following a decent rest, you will go to the Karamojong village, a cultural exchange wherein you will spend a fantastic afternoon (evening) with the Karamojong people. You will get understanding of their way of life and values. Dinner and your night stay at the chosen hotel.

Day 8: Morning nature walk and afternoon game drive at Kidepo NP.

You will leave breakfast to go across the African savannah. Accompanied by an armed ranger-guide, you will search the local animals by crossing rocky outcrops over vegetation along dry river beds. Should you find yourself at the Kidepo River Valley, a wonderful sight is a walk on its vast bed of white sand or in the Borassus palm grove, like an oasis in the Sahara.

We will later (afternoon session) go back to the Narus Valley for additional African animal interactions. Get back for your overnight stay and supper.

Day 9: Early game viewing and transfer to Murchison NP.

You will then go for an early-riser game watching after an early breakfast. Then leave Kidepo and go for Murchison Falls National Park. The Murchison’s thundering rapids and Uganda’s biggest national park’s undulating grasslands, where you may see lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephants, define this park’s attractions.

Then, naturally, the number of Nile crocodiles and hippos here will astound you. You will go to Murchison, do little except investigate your lodging, then relax, have supper, and spend your night.

#Optional (additional cost 40$): You could want to think about a fantastic night game drive to experience a rare meeting with the wild nightlife.

Day 10: Murchison game drive and afternoon boat trip to the base of the falls.

Following breakfast, you will go for an early morning game drive in Uganda’s biggest national park’s rolling plains in search of animals like lions, leopards—though rare—and other species. During the journey, any birder will be able to see quite a lot of birds.

Go back to the lodging for lunch and some quiet time. Following lunch, you will set out for the boat excursion to the foot of Murchison Falls, where you will also be able to see additional creatures like hippos, crocodiles and various water birds.

If interested, keep on a climb to the top of the falls at an optional additional cost of fifteen dollars. Though the climb might be challenging, the excitement of climbing to the summit is unmatched. Go back to your motel and unwind.

Day 11: Drive to the top of the Falls and transfer to Kibale Forest NP.

Following an early breakfast, you will travel to the top of Murchison Falls to see its splendor. Our trip from the summit will take us overnight near Kibale Forest National Park. The lengthy yet gorgeous trip passes past towns, rich green farmland, and hills with tea plantations in Uganda. Beautiful views will astonish you throughout. Check in and unwind at your hotel.

Optional (15$): Interested? Take the crater lakes tour. The many little lakes, mild slopes, and breathtaking vistas will delight you. Otherwise, relax at the facilities.

Day 12: Bigodi Wetlands Excursions and transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP.

After breakfast, visit Bigodi Wetlands. The Bigodi Wetland is home to several primate species, including black and white Colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and baboons. Bigodi is a birdwatcher’s heaven.

One of the local birds is the big blue turaco. A 2-hour trip from Bigodi to Queen Elizabeth National Park awaits. Early arrival at Queen allows time for lunch, relaxation, and game watching. Look for reedbucks, bushbucks, kobs, warthogs, elephants, lions, and buffaloes during the game drive. You might also take the Queen’s stunning explosion crater drive. Rest at your hotel.

Day 13: Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge and afternoon boat trip at Kazinga channel.

Following breakfast, you will follow chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge. The gorge is home to habituated chimpanzees, baboons, monkeys, and birds. Start the day monitoring chimpanzees here. Return to the hotel for lunch and leisure.

After lunch, you’ll take a 2-hour Kazinga Channel boat ride between Lakes George and Edward. Giant hippos, elephants, and crocodiles will amaze you during the journey. The waterside has several bird species. After the boat ride, have a late afternoon game drive and return to the resort.

Day 14: Sunrise game drive at Kasenyi Plains, head to Ishasha after connect to Bwindi Impenetrable NP.

Wake up early for a Kasenyi plains wildlife drive. Look for Cape buffalos, elephant herds, lions, leopards (hard to locate), and more. Head to Ishasha to see tree-climbing lions after checking out of the resort. These lions are 70% visible, but they might be hard to locate while hunting in the grasslands.

If you see them, it’s beautiful. We’ll travel from Ishasha to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park’s Buhoma section accommodations. We suggest checking in and relaxing before tomorrow’s hike after a long day.

Day 15: Gorilla trekking at Bwindi Forest and move out for community tour.

After breakfast, a ranger guide will advise you on hiking rules at the rangers’ station. Adventure awaits in the Bwindi Forest. The landscape changes as these enormous primates walk. You have one hour with a gorilla group after finding them.

The joy of seeing these friendly yet endangered giants is unparalleled. Before the late afternoon-to-evening local community and cultural engagement, relax at the hotel. Community members perform ethnic dances and participate in traditional cooking and weaving. Return to the lodge for supper and overnight.

Day 16: Transfer to Lake Mburo NP and afternoon game drive.

After breakfast, go to Lake Mburo National Park via Mbarara City. After arriving at Lake Mburo, you’ll recover before an afternoon-to-evening game drive. Eland antelopes, zebras, impalas, Uganda kobs, and Cape buffalos are among the animals you may view on the game drive. Relax at your overnight lodging.
#Optional additional $30: To see nocturnal animals, which are scarce during the day, try the night game drive.

Day 17: Morning and afternoon game drives.

A morning wildlife drive at Lake Mburo National Park follows breakfast. Look for large eland antelopes, zebras, impalas, Uganda kobs, and Cape buffalos during the wildlife drive. Return to your hotel for lunch and leisure after the morning game drive. An evening game drive will let you view what you missed in the morning.

Day 18: Morning walk safari and return to Entebbe.

You will go into the Mburo morning park (bush) with an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guide after breakfast. This early morning guided walk lets you see zebras, giraffes, eland, antelopes, Cape buffaloes, and more up close.

To view Lake Mburo and beyond, climb the slopes on the Trail. Nine of Lake Mburo National Park’s twelve lakes are visible from here. After checking out, drive to Entebbe Airport to catch the flight.
