Departing from Nairobi, we journey through the breathtaking Great Rift Valley, soaking in the stunning landscapes as we make our way to our campsite close to the Masai Mara National Reserve. After lunch at our tented camp, we embarked on an exhilarating game drive in the renowned game reserve. This is an incredible game-viewing destination, regarded as the essence of genuine African safaris.
After our exhilarating first game drive in Kenya, East Africa, we return to the luxury tented camp for dinner and some well-deserved relaxation. The camp is nestled along the river’s edge, within a secluded conservancy area, where a variety of wildlife can frequently be seen.
Day 2: Masai Mara Game Reserve – Kenya
The entirety of day two is dedicated to exploring the wonders of game viewing in Masai Mara. The legendary plains of Masai Mara host over 450 species of wildlife, featuring the renowned Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo. Today you explore the untamed savannahs of Africa, coming across a rich variety of wildlife, including hippos, wild dogs, crocodiles, wildebeest, zebras, hyenas, giraffes, jackals, and many other fascinating creatures.
Masai Mara is renowned for the breathtaking wildlife migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and other herbivores thunder across the vast plains and rivers. Each year, this incredible journey, referred to as the Great Migration, draws numerous predators along the path that connects Kenya’s Masai Mara to Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park.
Experience the thrill of an optional balloon ride soaring above the breathtaking plains of Masai Mara. This optional balloon ride comes at an additional cost and offers one of the most breathtaking perspectives of Masai Mara and the rich variety of wildlife that calls the reserve home.
This evening, we will remain at our cozy camp close to Masai Mara, resting in tented accommodations that feature en-suite bathrooms and charming verandahs.
Day 3: Masai Mara & Speke Bay – Kenya
Wake up and enjoy a hearty breakfast at camp, then embark on our journey to the Isebania Border Post as we make our way into Tanzania. First stop in Tanzania – Lake Victoria, the largest lake on the continent, brimming with possibilities. We stay at Speke Bay Lodge, just 15 km from the breathtaking Serengeti National Park on Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit.
This afternoon, you have the perfect opportunity to unwind at the lodge nestled on the south-eastern shores of the Great Lake. Alternatively, you can embark on a fishing expedition or enjoy an optional boat ride (at extra cost) on the enchanting Lake Victoria. The lodge sits on the shores of the Speke Gulf, a place steeped in history, named in honor of British explorer John Hanning Speke. He was the first European to reach Lake Victoria and recognize the Great Lake as the source of the Nile back in the mid-1800s.
Day 4: Journey from Speke Bay to the breathtaking Serengeti National Park – Tanzania
On day four of our Tanzania & Kenya Safari, we venture into the secluded western corridor of the Serengeti National Park, entering through the Ndabaka Gate. The whole day unfolds with thrilling encounters in the Serengeti, pausing for a delightful picnic lunch along the way.
The Serengeti National Park stands out as a premier safari destination in Africa, regarded as the birthplace of the classic African safari, alongside Masai Mara. As a vital part of the same ecosystem as Mara, the Serengeti Plains present an expansive African savannah landscape, even more extensive than its Kenyan counterpart, covering 14,763 km².
Following our exhilarating game drive, we will enjoy dinner at Ikoma Safari Camp (or a similar location) where we will spend the night.
Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Tanzania
Day five is dedicated to our epic Serengeti Safari in Tanzania.
This vast wildlife reserve is renowned for its spectacular annual migration, where more than a million herbivores journey from the northern to the southern plains of Serengeti during the short rainy season (October and November), before making their way back north after the long rainy season (April to June). Serengeti Park presents an incredible opportunity for wildlife observation throughout the year, ensuring we encounter numerous plains game and predators traversing the expansive grasslands.
As the sun sets, we make our way back to Serengeti Ikoma Tented Lodge (or similar) for a delightful dinner and a cozy overnight stay.

Today we set off on an exhilarating early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, followed by a delightful breakfast back at the lodge.
Next, our journey through the Masai Mara, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti Safari leads us to Olduvai Gorge, a stunning deep ravine nestled in the East African Rift Valley. On our journey, we pause for a delightful picnic lunch while taking in the sights of wildlife around us. The gorge boasts a renowned archaeological site, showcasing some of the earliest fossils of our humanoid ancestors. We explore the Olduvai Gorge Museum to witness the excavated remains of our ancestors, featuring Homo erectus remains that date back an astonishing 1.2 million years.
From Olduvai, we journey onward to Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge (or similar) where we will enjoy dinner and rest for the night.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater – Tanzania
On day seven, we rise early for breakfast and embark on an exhilarating descent of 600m into the crater, ready for an action-packed day of game viewing in this wildlife paradise.
Our 4×4 game drive leads us through the vibrant landscapes of the crater floor, where we meet an array of wild animals. While in the crater, we enjoy a delightful picnic lunch. The Ngorongoro Crater is famous for its abundant wildlife, showcasing a remarkable variety of animal species in one stunning location. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area promises an exciting opportunity to encounter a remarkable variety of wildlife, thanks to its abundant animal populations.
