5-Day Queen Elizabeth and Kibale Forest Safari
Overview
The top two safari destinations in Uganda are visited on this 5-day Queen Elizabeth and Kibale Forest safari, which includes activities like game drive animal watching, chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest, and a boat tour on the Kazinga Channel. Together with an amazing chimpanzee encounter, you get to see four of the five African big game creatures.
Trip Itinerary ( Detailed Safari )
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.
Following breakfast, our safari guide will collect you from the hotel early in the morning and drive you over the Masaka–Mbarara route to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is located in the Kasese District at the base of Mount Rwenzori. Take pictures at the equator monument. After that, go to Queen National Park and settle into your lodge for a restful night’s sleep and supper.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise.
Start your day with a game view of Kasenyi grasslands after breakfast. Black and white Columbus monkeys, bushbuck, Uganda Kob, topi, Defassa waterbuck, and Cape buffaloes are common. Lake Edward waterfront birds including Cassin’s grey flycatcher, broad-billed roller, and black bee-eater.
After lunch at the resort, take a 2-hour launch cruise on Kazinga channel and Lake George-Lake Edward to see hippos, crocodiles, and leopards, albeit rare.
Birdwatchers should search for nearly 550 resident species, including flamingos, red chest, papyrus Gonolek, pink-backed pelicans, malachite kingfishers, yellow crown, water thick-knee, yellow-billed stork, and shoebill stock. Never forget your camera. Return to your lodge to unwind.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale.
After taking breakfast, depart from Queen Elizabeth to Kibale National Park. Kibale National Park has the highest concentration and variety of primates in East Africa with 13 species and overall 60 mammal species and so far offers the best excellent chimpanzee tracking in Uganda. Dine and sleep at your favorite lodge as you wait to meet man’s closest relative the following day.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking.
After breakfast on day 4, you’ll be briefed at the park headquarters and track chimpanzees near Kanyanchu. This breathtaking adventure takes up to 6 hours and brings you closer to man’s closest cousin.
L’Hoest monkeys, baboons, white and black colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, red colobus, blue monkeys, and pottos live nearby. Giant forest pigs, rare forest elephants, and a remarkable tree species are also present.
Eat lunch and then join a guided nature walk to Bigodi wetland refuge, a birdwatching spot. It’s easy to spot the Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek among the 137 bird species. There are several butterfly species to see throughout your chimpanzee adventure. After retiring, return for supper and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Kampala.
You will have breakfast on the last day of the five-day Murchison Falls safari before returning to Kampala with lunch stopped in Mityana town. Drop off to the airport in Entebbe. We appreciate you selecting Peak Cruise Safaris!
