14-Day Ultimate Uganda Birding Safari – From US$6,250 pp
A Serious Uganda Birding Journey
Duration: 14 Days / 13 Nights
Style: Private Specialist Birding Safari
Day 1 – Arrival in Entebbe
Private welcome, lodge check-in and introductory birding according to arrival time.
Day 2 – Mabamba Shoebill Birding
Begin with one of Uganda’s iconic bird targets.
Search Mabamba for shoebill while building the first serious list of the safari.
Day 3 – Entebbe to Murchison Falls
Travel north with strategic birding stops.
Day 4 – Murchison Falls Savannah & Nile Birding
Explore open savannah, woodland and Nile habitats.
Day 5 – Budongo Forest Birding
Shift completely from open-country birds to forest birding.
This habitat change is one of the great strengths of a longer Uganda birding safari.

Day 6 – Transfer towards Fort Portal
Continue southwest with birding stops where practical.
Day 7 – Semuliki National Park
Dedicate a full day to Semuliki’s Guinea-Congo-influenced forest species.
Day 8 – Kibale Region
Continue towards Kibale and bird the surrounding forest and wetland habitats.
Day 9 – Kibale Birding
Dedicate more time to forest targets rather than rushing onward.
Day 10 – Kibale to Queen Elizabeth
Travel into the Rift Valley and begin savannah birding.
Day 11 – Queen Elizabeth & Kazinga Channel
Explore multiple habitats and take the boat along the Kazinga Channel.
Day 12 – Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi
Travel towards Bwindi with birding stops en route.
Day 13 – Bwindi Birding
Dedicate the day to one of Uganda’s most important Albertine Rift birding landscapes.
For specialist birders, the exact sector and trails should be selected according to priority species, local conditions and guide advice.
Day 14 – Bwindi / Lake Mburo / Entebbe Arrangements
Complete the journey according to flight timing.
For serious international birders, we may recommend extending this itinerary beyond 14 days to avoid sacrificing productive birding time to the final road transfer.
