Day 1 – Arrival in Entebbe & Local Birding

Meet your Maseke Adventures representative in Entebbe.

Depending on arrival time, begin with relaxed birding around suitable Entebbe and Lake Victoria habitats.

This first afternoon is deliberately gentle.

Rather than rushing across Uganda immediately after an international flight, settle in, adjust to the environment and begin building your Uganda bird list.

Overnight in Entebbe.

Day 2 – Mabamba Shoebill Birding

Start early for Mabamba.

Travel towards the wetland and transfer into the smaller boat/canoe used to explore its papyrus channels.

The headline target is unmistakable: Shoebill.

But serious birders should resist the temptation to stop birding after finding it.

Spend time exploring the wider wetland for waterbirds, papyrus-associated species, kingfishers, herons and other birds according to conditions.

Return to Entebbe with further birding where time permits.

Day 3 – Entebbe Birding & Departure

Enjoy another morning around suitable local habitats depending on flight time.

Transfer to Entebbe International Airport.
